There is however, a difference in the way online stores are hosted. There are self-hosted stores that require more follow-up from you to make sure your plug-ins and certificates are up to date. When an error occurs, you will often need to refer to self-help forums for solutions. Self-hosted stores are best suited to large business with a dedicated IT team. Hosted platforms on the other hand, are simpler to manage. Hosted providers install updates and security patches, reduce downtime and implement the latest features that consumers love.
